Foresters Financial is very pleased to announce the appointment of two new Board Members, Michael Liu and Andrew Baxter. Michael and Andrew will bring a great variety of expertise to Foresters Financial to assist in driving our exciting future direction.

We would also like to thank our retiring directors, Philip Fraher and Richard Bouchier, for their many years of service and wish them well for the future.

 

Michael Liu

Michael has around 25 years of financial services experience. He is currently a non-executive director on the Board of WCM Global Growth (WQG – ASX listed), where he is Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Michael is also a non-executive director on the Board of BankVic, a member-owned bank with over 113,000 members, where he is Chair of the Audit Committee and a Member of the Digital and Cyber Committee.

Michael is also currently a Principal at 5i Capital, a venture capital firm specialising in cybersecurity investments and has previously held senior executive positions at a global fintech headquartered in London, UBS Investment Bank and Macquarie Bank, having commenced his career as a lawyer at Allens Arthur Robinson.

 

Andrew Baxter

Andrew is the Chair of Australian Pork, Chair of Tjapukai, Chair of Commtract, as well as a Senior Advisor at BGH Capital and the Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the University of Sydney. He’s also been a Senior Advisor to KPMG following the launch of their entrepreneurial Customer, Brand and Marketing Advisory practice. And prior to this he successfully led major professional services firms for over a decade, as the CEO of two of the country’s largest communications agencies, Publicis, and Ogilvy, where he was a trusted counsel to many of Australia’s most iconic brands, as well as State and Federal Governments.

Andrew is also a Non-Executive Director of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and on the Board of the NBL. Furthermore, Andrew has had previous Board roles at the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation (Chair), Deakin Business School (Chair), Catch Group, The Song Room (Chair), Melbourne Aces (Chair), CC Media (a HT&E company) and the Communications Council.

Andrew regularly writes in The Australian about the future of marketing, in a world where both consumers and technology are ever-evolving. He has been named as one of LinkedIn’s Top 40 Australian influencers, recognised by Campaign magazine as one of the Top 5 Agency Leaders in Australia and New Zealand, and the winner of Australian Marketing Institute’s Sir Charles McGrath Award for his significant contribution to the field of marketing.
